Message from the National President The fact that you elected me as your National President to carry on the legacy of the 25 phenomenal women who came before me on the eve of my 50th Delta anniversary is a blessing and even more reason to be humbled by the awesome recognition of my service. Your unanimous vote of confidence in me is a profound reminder than I have more work to do on my Delta journey of resourceful, relevant and relational leadership. Thank you! I am excited to share this edition of the Delta Journal with you. Although several months have passed since the 53rd National Convention in Las Vegas concluded, this Journal will give attendees, as well as those who were unable to join us, an up-close and personal look at the stellar events, regional recognitions, Delta’s charitable giving and the success of our youth initiatives. You will read information concerning changes in our Headquarters staff, the vision of the 2017 – 2019 Executive Committee and witness the positive results of the countless hours our chapters dedicate to making a difference in their communities. Many thanks to the editorial team on our headquarters staff for a job well done. The momentum has continued beyond the convention as we focus on five specific areas during this biennium: our organizational health, social action, community impact, empowering our women and girls, and appreciating our culture through Arts & Letters; all while maintaining “Joy in our Sisterhood... Power in our Voice...Service in our Heart.” On the back cover of this issue you will find the names of the 2017-19 National Executive Board. I am pleased to announce this talented team of sorors who represent the diversity of our organization’s regions, generations, skill sets and capabilities. Look out for more news about the work we’ve begun as a leadership team and the goals we’ve set to build on the foundation laid before us. Sorors, I am excited to continue this Delta journey with each and every one of you. Let us continue working together to further the goals of our beloved Sorority. I look forward to meeting and working with each of you. JOURNAL Winter 2017 s3 Greetings, My Sorors! W elcome to the Winter 2017 Edition of the Delta Journal… the first edition of my administration!
