After a prayer over the food, a slideshow presentation was played while members enjoyed lunch and had the opportunity to mix and mingle with other collegiate members. Erin Adams sang a beautiful rendition of “When You Believe” by Mariah Carey. During the luncheon, cochairs of the National Leadership Academy announced 10 members who were graduates of the program. All seven Regional Directors stepped up and were mentors to the young women. s20 DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY, INC. This year, an inaugural award was created and fully funded by the past National Second Vice Presidents. Alexis Wright from the University of Miami received The “SHE-ro” award which included a $750 scholarship. Twenty-five awards were distributed to deserving members, collegiate chapters and advisors. “Our collegiate members are a true class act—trailblazing the way,” said Soror Mc- Cain. “The level of excellence displayed by these women is inspiring. I am so proud of them all.” s Past National Second Vice Presidents lend their support and attend the Collegiate Luncheon Aug. 5.
