Awards: 2017 National Convention Collegiate Luncheon JOURNAL Winter 2017 s19 The Mandalay Bay Convention Center was filled with hundreds of collegiate sorors representing chapters from across the world at the 53rd National Convention of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in Las Vegas. Soror McCain’s platform during her tenure was “Taylor Made: Suited to Serve.” Under the collegiate leadership of Taylor McCain, Immediate Past National Second Vice President, the Motivated Advocates Dedicated to Excellence Awards, also known as M.A.D.E., was created to honor and celebrate collegiate members, chapters and advisors for their dedication and service to the community and to Delta Sigma Theta. “We have made excellence a habit in Delta Sigma Theta,” expressed Dr. Paulette C. Walker, 25th National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The Collegiate Luncheon sponsor, Johnson and Johnson, Inc. shared their remarks regarding wanting to have an ongoing relationship with Delta Sigma Theta and also encouraged members to be bold thinkers as they become the next future leaders.
