January 1, 2013

Dear Soror:

In many cultures, each new  year is assigned a theme to represent the promise of a new beginning.  Well in 2013, the world will celebrate the YEAR OF DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY, INC.

As we begin another chapter in Delta, I want to take this time to extend a very happy New Year to you and all of your loved ones.  This is a year that we have anticipated with much excitement.  While we are not doing a “Wednesday’s Word” this week, you will hear from us very shortly as we continue the celebratory momentum of our Centennial Celebration.  There is much in store, including the launching of the Delta Torch Tour, our gathering at the morning shows in New York and starting with our participation in the 2013 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade.  If you are not in California for the Rose Bowl Parade, please be sure to watch on television as we “Float into History” by paying homage to our Founders and the communities that our Sisterhood has served for 100 Years.

The Delta caravan will soon be pulling into Washington, D.C., the birthplace of our Sorority for our Centennial Founders Day Weekend.  This will be a celebration unlike any that our Nation’s Capital has seen.  I hope to see you as we kick off  the Centennial  year of DELTA in grand fashion!

With a Servant’s Heart,

Cynthia M.A. Butler-McIntyre
