CENTENNIAL LICENSE FEE PROCESS AND SCHEDULE
July 27, 2012
The excitement is mounting for the many activities that members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will participate in during our upcoming 51st National Convention and 100th Centennial Celebration. We are aware of the desire of our members to purchase items that represent this celebratory time. For those interested in selling Centennial- themed items, the current application process (see Vendor Certification above) and basic application fee will remain the same. We have added an additional Centennial License fee which is outlined below:
Centennial License Fee Schedule:
- A Centennial license fee of $800 will be added to the current license fee for vendors wishing to sell Centennial items during the period of August 1, 2012 through December 31, 2013.
- A Centennial license fee of $500 will be added to the current license fee for vendors wishing to sell Centennial items during the period of January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013.
Please add the additional Centennial License fee to the payment and submit it via with an acceptable form of payment, which is a credit card or cashier’s check, to the following address:
DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY, INC.
P.O. Box 33759
Washington, D. C. 20033-0759
A sample(s) of all Centennial merchandise must be submitted for approval to Nicole Lenon Johnson, Intellectual Property Specialist. Centennial items are described as items which contain any of the following marks, either individually imprinted on items manufactured using Delta’s color(s) or in combination with each other or any of Delta’s registered or common law trademarks or service marks:
- 1913 - 2013
- 100th
- 100 years
- Centennial
Upon approval of sample merchandise, the vendor will be notified. Additionally, Delta’s website will reflect which Certified Vendors are authorized to sell Centennial merchandise.
All vendors are prohibited from selling any items that purport to be Centennial items until the vendor has been approved to sell such items. Unlicensed vendors who violate Delta’s merchandise sales policy will not be approved to become a licensed vendor, and any licensed vendor who violates the policy will be sanctioned as Delta deems appropriate including revocation of the vendor’s license. Delta reserves the right to initiate court action against any vendor, licensed or unlicensed, who, without proper approval, designs, advertises, displays, markets and/or sells merchandise bearing Delta’s Marks.
Delta members have always supported the Sorority’s request
that they refrain from patronizing and report unlicensed
vendors. Delta encourages members to continue their
vigilance. Reports should be made to Ms. Lenon and should
include the name of the business; contact person and
title, if available; address; telephone number; location
of sale or display of merchandise; and list of items
being sold.
