Cynthia M. A. Butler-McIntyre, National President

Soror Cynthia M. A. Butler-McIntyre is the 24th National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Initiated into the Sorority through the Beta Gamma Chapter of Dillard University on November 30, 1973, Soror Butler-McIntyre has served Delta with exemplary distinction at the local, state, regional and national levels which has earned her the respect and admiration of the membership. She is lovingly regarded as "A Leader with a Servant's Heart."

Soror Butler-McIntyre is an educator who currently serves as a Director of Human Resources for the Jefferson Parish Public School System in Harvey, La. She has impacted the lives of countless children and young people as a kindergarten teacher, assistant principal, summer school principal and personnel administrator in her school district. Her professional experience also includes her service as executive director of the Tech-Prep Summer Program at Delgado Community College in New Orleans, La. She has also worked as the assistant coordinator of field experiences and College of Education supervisor for early childhood student teaching experiences for the University of New Orleans.

Soror Butler-McIntyre earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in early childhood education at Dillard University and a Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction/educational administration at the University of New Orleans all by the age of 20. She is the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree in religious education from the Louisiana Christian Bible College. She has also completed more than 60 hours in the doctoral program at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Her distinguished service and outstanding achievements have been recognized by numerous professional, civic and church organizations on the local, state and national levels. Some of her awards include: Distinguished Public Servant Award, MLK Outstanding Activist Recognition, Hall of Fame, Distinguished Women of Honor, NABSE Superior Service Award, Trailblazer's Award, Women Who Make A Difference, Women in the Ministry, SHEroes of the Present, Presidential Service Award, African American Hall of Fame, Who's Who in American Education, YWCA Role Model Recognition, Outstanding Alumnus of a Historically Black College, Distinguished Delta of the Year, Outstanding Gospel Speaker, Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year, Outstanding Young Women of America and Teacher of the Year. Soror Butler-McIntyre is an active, life-long member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church. Her professional and community affiliations include the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the National Council of Negro Women, the Louisiana State Association of School Personnel Administrators, the Society of Human Resources Management and the National Alliance of Black School Educators. She currently serves on the board of the New Orleans Convention Center and The Martin Luther King Jr. Task Force. President Barack Obama appointed her to the Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation in 2011. As a motivational, educational and religious speaker, she has inspired thousands and she lives by the words of Peter 4:10 which states in part that "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others."

Soror Butler-McIntyre is married to Ronney McIntyre and they reside in New Orleans.

   
Paulette Walker, National First Vice President

Soror Paulette Walker has been a member of Delta Sigma Theta for over 40 years and has held several leadership positions since her initiation into our illustrious sisterhood in October 1966 through the Epsilon Epsilon Chapter of Michigan State University. Soror Walker received her Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics education in 1969 from Michigan State University. She received both her Master of Arts degree in guidance and counseling and Doctor of Education degree from the University of Michigan. Soror Walker is currently employed as the director of undergraduate programs and internship at the University of South Florida.
   
Chelsea C. Hayes, National Second Vice President

Soror Chelsea C. Hayes was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. on April 18, 2009 through the Zeta Theta Chapter at Purdue University. After beginning college at the age of sixteen, she emerged as a leader on campus and double majored in Public Health Promotion and Public Relations. Soror Hayes was elected to serve as the National Second Vice President at the 50th National Convention held in August of 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prior to her election as National 2nd VP, she served as the financial secretary of her collegiate chapter. In May 2011, she received her Bachelor of Arts degrees from Purdue University and in July 2012, she received her Master’s Degree in Corporate Communication from Northwestern University. Currently, she works in Human Resources at GE Capital, located downtown Chicago. She is an active member of Mortar Board National Honor Society and serves on the board of Motivating Students for Success. Although she is a native of San Jose, California, she is a proud member of The Chicago Alumnae Chapter.
   
Beverly Evans Smith, National Secretary

Soror Beverly Evans Smith was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta through the Epsilon Omicron Chapter of Bowling Green State University on October 21, 1967. She has held several leadership positions in the Sorority, including her time as Executive Director from 1988-1990. Soror Smith is currently Georgia’s Assistant Commissioner (State Director) for Adult Education and GED Testing - a division of the Technical College System of Georgia. She is also a principle and co-owner, alongside her husband, of The HR Group, Inc. a management consulting firm. Soror Smith has 30 years of experience in the areas of strategic planning; organizational effectiveness and restructure; human resources; financial management; non-profit organization leadership; and university administration.
   

Terri Rivalte Prunty, National Treasurer

Soror Terri Rivalte Prunty, CPA, of Charlotte, N.C. was initiated into the Sorority at Virginia Polytechnic and State University “Virginia Tech”. She is currently a member of Charlotte Alumnae Chapter. Her previous Delta Experience includes serving as chair of the National Internal Audit Committee from 2006 – 2010, member of the National Finance Committee, and chair of the South Atlantic Region Nominating Committee. She works for Wachovia Corporation where she handles project reporting and analysis.
